Align Therapy and EMDR PLLC

Statement of Acknowledgement: The Mental Health Field has caused harm to BIPOC, LGBTQ+, Neurodivergent people, and other marginalized/oppressed groups.

We at Align Therapy and EMDR PLLC acknowledge that the Mental and Behavioral Health Profession has a deep history of causing individual and systemic harm to oppressed groups of people.  This harm has not only increased the barriers to care and healing, it has also perpetuated trauma through White Supremacy and the centering of White people.  The colonization of Black, Brown, and Indigenous cultures has long discarded the intrinsic healing traditions of BIPOC people and centered the individualist White body ideals. The DSM has been used as a pathologizing tool and places indefensible blame on oppressed groups instead of acknowledging that we live in a society that has toxic ideals/values and that dehumanizes oppressed groups of people. We are committed to ani-racist and anti-oppression practices as an organization.  This involves a process of life-long learning, unlearning, and action to dismantle White supremacy as well as decolonize Mental and Behavioral Health treatment.  We acknowledge we will make mistakes and commit to having conversations in therapy and communities around this learning to reduce the barriers to anti-oppressive care.  We celebrate the humanity of BIPOC, LGBTQ+ Neurodivergent people, people living with disibilities and other intersectionally oppressed communities and believe in creating a world that celebrates this as well. If you are having any difficulties navigating our website for any reason or need accommodations, please reach out to us and we will accommodate your needs.

Additionally, we acknowledge that we live and work on Indigenous lands.  This is the ancestral homelands of the Plains Tribes, including the Lipan Apache, Comanche and Tonkawa. We acknowledge that we, as White clinicians, occupy and participate in exploitation of Land that are not native to us. As an organization, we work toward reconciliation and Land Back (honoring Indigenous peoples’ Sovereignty and Stewardship over their own territory).

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with 15 years of therapy experience. I am EMDR certified (Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing). I am also trained in: IFS (Internal Family Systems), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), CRM (Comprehensive Resource Model for complex trauma), and experiential therapy. My specialties include: complex trauma/dissociative disorders, addiction, chronic pain, relationships, and mood/anxiety disorders. I supervise LPC Associates who are working toward licensure and provide consultation for other clinicians. I love working with therapists and empowering them to receive the healing they so readily provide for others. My greatest ability is in connecting with my clients and creating a safe relationship to enable them to experience deep healing and become the best versions of themselves. I collaboratively work with my clients to establish a plan to accomplish their goals and include humor along the way. I am a spiritual person and love to incorporate this into the therapeutic process if this is important to my clients. I aim to address the whole person (cognitive, physical, spiritual, social) as each piece contributes to overall quality of life. I am BIPOC, Neurodivergent, LGBTQIA, disability affirming and fat positive. Currently, I am seeing clients through telehealth only (no in person sessions).

Steve Jones LCSW-S, LCDC

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor (LCSW-S) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). I graduated from Walla Walla University in Washington state, with a master’s degree in Social Work. I frequently employ a cognitive-behavioral approach, EMDR, Brainspotting and CRM in therapy.

My goal is to help clients achieve peace and contentment by increasing self-awareness and recognizing behaviors that no longer serve them. I make it my aim to partner with clients on their journey, identify their strengths, help distinguish areas for growth, and provide clients with non-judgmental support along the way. I believe that strong and fulfilling relationships with other individuals can help people maintain emotional well-being. I have 20+ years of experience in mental health, including individual, marriage, group counseling, crisis intervention, and substance use assessments.

I look forward to meeting with you and, through the therapy process, identifying and unlocking some problem solving abilities that you weren't aware of, or have been dormant for some time. I truly believe that we all have our answers inside of us, our own personal journey is a process of uncovering those skills and understandings.

Motivation comes from within — and we’re here to help you activate it.
